The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive, and equitable Nigeria as party leaders and stakeholders gathered in Abuja for its 8th National Convention.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, expressed confidence in the convention’s organization, describing it as one of the best he has witnessed.

He noted that the process had been meticulously structured to ensure transparency, legality, and inclusiveness, with various committees—including legal and resolution committees—put in place to guide proceedings in line with existing laws and regulations.

Goronyo emphasized that adherence to the rule of law remains central to the administration’s agenda, highlighting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is deeply committed to strengthening democratic institutions under his Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the involvement of the Attorney General of the Federation in chairing key committees underscores the party’s resolve to ensure due process and credibility throughout the convention.

“The expectation is that we will emerge stronger and more united. This convention is designed to deepen internal democracy and promote inclusivity among party members,” he said.

The convention attracted prominent figures within the party, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, governors, members of the National Assembly, and delegates from across the country.

Party leaders reiterated that the APC remains focused on strengthening its internal democratic processes while advancing policies that promote national cohesion, fairness, and sustainable development.

They also urged members to remain united and committed to the party’s vision as it continues to consolidate its position ahead of future political engagements.

The 8th National Convention is expected to play a critical role in shaping the party’s leadership structure and strategic direction in the coming years.
