Onowakpo, Oborevwori, Others Attend Funeral of APC Chairman’s Mother

Senator Joel Onowakpo has joined Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and other prominent leaders and dignitaries to bid farewell to Mrs. Felicia Olumewo Arenyeka, JP, popularly known as Mama Sisi, mother of the Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Chief Solomon Arenyeka, JP, the Eson of Warri.

Mrs. Arenyeka, who died at the age of 91, was buried following a funeral service held at the First Baptist Church, Swamp Road, Warri GRA.

The funeral was attended by political leaders, family members, friends and well-wishers who gathered to honour the deceased and commiserate with the Arenyeka family.

The interment and reception subsequently took place at Ubeji Grammar School, Ubeji, Warri.

Speaking on the occasion, Senator Onowakpo described the funeral as a fitting celebration of a life dedicated to God, family and community.

Onowakpo, who represents Delta South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, expressed his condolences to Chief Arenyeka and the entire Arenyeka family on behalf of his family, the Onowakpos, and the people of Delta South.

He prayed God to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss, while asking for the peaceful repose of Mama Sisi’s soul.

“May Mama’s gentle soul rest in perfect peace, and may Almighty God grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Onowakpo said.

The senator paid tribute to the deceased’s long life and the legacy she left behind, describing her passing as a painful loss to her family and community.

Mama Sisi is survived by her children, including Chief Solomon Arenyeka, and other members of the Arenyeka family.
