Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, who represents Delta South Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Local Content, has congratulated the Leader of the 10th Senate, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, CON, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a mentor, dependable leader and elder brother whose guidance has shaped his legislative journey.
In a goodwill message released on Wednesday, Joel-Onowakpo praised Bamidele’s leadership style, saying his open-door policy, wisdom and unwavering support had been instrumental in helping him navigate the responsibilities of lawmaking since joining the 10th Senate.
According to the Delta South lawmaker, Bamidele’s mentorship has contributed significantly to his growth as a legislator and to the achievements recorded in Delta South Senatorial District.
“From my first days in the 10th Senate as a rookie legislator, through the journey of translating parliamentary theory into legislative practice, and even to this very moment, you have stood by me with uncommon grace, wisdom and genuine brotherly support,” he said.
Joel-Onowakpo described the Senate Leader as an accomplished lawyer, human rights advocate, Life Bencher, former Lagos State Commissioner and ranking legislator whose career reflects an unwavering commitment to public service, democratic governance and the rule of law.
He further commended Bamidele for providing strategic leadership in the 10th Senate, noting that the upper chamber has remained stable, productive and focused on advancing the national interest under his stewardship.
The senator also lauded Bamidele’s contributions to legislative debates, describing him as one of the most articulate, diligent and intellectually grounded voices in the National Assembly.
Offering prayers for the celebrant, Joel-Onowakpo wished him excellent health, renewed strength and greater wisdom to continue serving the Senate, the people of Ekiti Central Senatorial District, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Nigeria.
