The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to inaugurate its National Campaign Council for the forthcoming Ekiti State Governorship Election on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, as part of efforts to intensify preparations for the poll.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the inauguration will take place at the Kashim Shettima Hall of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja at 12 noon.
The campaign council is chaired by Uba Sani, while the President of the Senate, Godswill Obot Akpabio, will serve as Co-Chairman. The Secretary of the council is Michael Opeyemi Bamidele.
The party said the council comprises serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other senior party leaders who will coordinate and drive APC’s campaign activities ahead of the governorship election.
To facilitate effective campaign planning and execution, the APC has constituted several subcommittees covering strategic areas such as election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots engagement, logistics, protocol, media and publicity, security, women’s mobilisation, youth mobilisation, and secretariat operations.
The inauguration is expected to formally kick-start the party’s statewide mobilisation efforts as it seeks victory in the upcoming governorship election in Ekiti State.
In the statement, the APC described the inauguration as a critical component of its electoral strategy, aimed at strengthening coordination and expanding grassroots support across the state ahead of the polls.
