Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas has expressed confidence that the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, will galvanise massive votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Onowakpo, who represents Delta South Senatorial District in the National Assembly and is the APC candidate for the district in the 2027 election, said the achievements of the two leaders were visible and verifiable, stressing that the people did not need anyone to educate them about their impact.

The senator spoke on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the APC Delta South Senatorial District Mega Meeting held at the Brownhill Coliseum, Ogunu, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

He described Delta State, particularly Delta South, as a stronghold of progress and commitment to good governance, saying the people had witnessed the performance of the Tinubu administration at the federal level and the Oborevwori administration in the state.

“Nobody needs to tell us what the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been doing in this country,” he said.

Onowakpo also commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as significant strides in governance and development across Delta State, noting that the governor’s achievements complemented the efforts of the APC-led Federal Government.

“Nobody is to educate us about what our hardworking Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is doing in Delta State. We can see it for ourselves. Nobody needs to tell us,” he said.

Speaking on the APC candidates for the 2027 elections, the senator said the party’s candidates had emerged based on their antecedents, records of service and the confidence reposed in them by the people.

“We all know what all the party candidates are doing in Delta State, and in that line, you people have also chosen them to represent you in the 2027 elections,” he said.

He urged APC members, leaders and stakeholders across Delta South to intensify their mobilisation efforts and work collectively to secure maximum votes for all candidates of the party, from the presidential candidate to members of the state Houses of Assembly.

Onowakpo expressed appreciation to APC stakeholders and members for the confidence reposed in the party’s candidates, assuring them that the trust would be reciprocated through effective representation and quality service.

Other APC leaders who addressed the gathering, including the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka; Delta South APC Chairman, Chief Emmanuel Arngbaduba; Chief Bernard Okumagba; Hon. Daniel Reyenieju; Chief Ovuozourie Macaulay; and Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, also called on party members to unite and mobilise extensively for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
