The Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has emphasised that the newly constructed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Multipurpose Hall at Abati Military Barracks, Ojuelegba, Surulere, will not only serve as a community and military gathering space but also as a sustainable revenue-generating asset for the barracks.

Speaking during the commissioning of the facility, Gbajabiamila noted that the 1,200-seater facility was carefully designed to serve multiple functions — from official military events, town hall meetings, and educational seminars to weddings, conferences, training programs, and social engagements. According to him, this versatility positions the hall as a key income source that will support the welfare and development of the barracks community.

“This project is not just about putting up a structure. It is about creating value. The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Multipurpose Hall will generate revenue for Abati Military Barracks through various uses, ensuring that the facility sustains itself while also improving the quality of life for officers, their families, and the surrounding community,” Gbajabiamila remarked.

He added that naming the hall after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was deliberate. It symbolises the Renewed Hope Agenda’s focus on sustainable development, empowerment, and inclusiveness. Beyond its symbolic value, the hall represents a forward-looking investment in people and infrastructure.

The project is expected to open opportunities for entrepreneurship, as local service providers — event managers, caterers, decorators, and vendors — will also benefit from its activities. Gbajabiamila explained that this ripple effect will stimulate the local economy of Surulere while promoting unity and engagement within the military and civilian communities.
