The Integrity Group of Nigeria has endorsed Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, representing Delta South Senatorial District, for re-election in 2027, pledging to mobilize 30,000 votes for him and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the district.
The group announced its endorsement on Saturday during a solidarity and courtesy visit to the senator at his country home in Emede, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The delegation was led by the group’s Director-General, Dr Oke Hezx Idawene, who described Senator Joel-Onowakpo as a performing lawmaker whose representation had brought significant visibility and development to Delta South.
Idawene said the senator’s legislative contributions, grassroots empowerment initiatives and commitment to the Renewed Hope and MORE Agenda had distinguished him as a leader deserving of another term.
He assured the senator that the group would deploy its grassroots mobilisation structures across the senatorial district to deliver 30,000 votes for him and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of an Award of Excellence to the senator in recognition of his legislative performance and people-oriented leadership.
He was also formally conferred with the title of National Patron of the Integrity Group of Nigeria.
Responding, Senator Joel-Onowakpo expressed appreciation to the group for its confidence and support, commending its leadership and members for their organisational strength, discipline and grassroots mobilisation capacity.
The senator urged the group to extend its mobilisation efforts beyond his re-election bid to cover all APC candidates across the country.
He specifically called for support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Joel-Onowakpo reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy to the people of Delta South, assuring the group that he would justify the confidence reposed in him through improved representation and performance.
The visit, marked by solidarity and celebration, underscores efforts by political support groups to strengthen the APC’s grassroots base in Delta South ahead of the 2027 general elections.
