The senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro PhD, condemns, in strong terms, the killing of the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Ardo Risku Muhammad, on Saturday.

Muhammad and his friend, Yakubu Isah, were reportedly ambushed and killed by armed men while returning from a peace meeting in part of the state.

Senator Moro describes the attack as barbaric and unacceptable. He says all lives matter, and that nobody has the moral and constitutional rights to take the life of an innocent and armless person.

The senator charges security agents to do thorough investigation with a view to getting the real perpetrators of the crime and bringing them to justice.

Senator Moro finds it gratifying that the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has found it expeditious to condemn the killing of Ardo and Yakubu. He opines that if the governor had been pro-actively living up to his constitutional responsibility of protecting the lives and property of Benue people, this avoidable killing would have been averted.

He extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and calls on everyone to join hands together to nip the ugly security situation in the bud.
