Senator Abba Moro has assured the people of Benue South Senatorial District of continued execution of people-oriented projects aimed at improving their living conditions.
The Senate Minority Leader gave the assurance during the commissioning of a newly constructed and fully equipped Primary Healthcare Centre at Udegi-Ito and a PCI water project at Okpoga over the weekend.
Speaking at both events, Senator Moro said his mission was to bridge the infrastructural deficit in Zone C caused by years of neglect and abandonment. He pledged to continue attracting impactful projects to the district.
According to the senator, healthcare remains a top priority for him, revealing that he had constructed twelve healthcare centres across Benue South, which would soon be unveiled.
He urged the benefiting communities to protect the facilities from vandalism and disclosed plans to approach the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for the deployment of doctors and nurses to the Udegi-Ito healthcare centre pending the recruitment of permanent medical personnel.
“I entered politics because I want to make a difference,” Moro said. “I don’t talk much, I let my works speak for me.”
The senator also expressed delight that the Udegi-Ito community now has access to clean water after decades of unsuccessful attempts to find water in the area.
Earlier, the acting Ad’Utu Obi, Chief Emmanuel Odeh Obagi, thanked Senator Moro for the projects, describing the healthcare centre and solar-powered borehole as unprecedented developments in the community.
He also commended the senator for the ongoing reconstruction of the Otukpo–Obi–Oju road, which he said had significantly reduced travel time within the area.
Other speakers at the event praised Senator Moro for his developmental strides across Zone C and assured him of their continued support.
