Former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, CON, have urged Party chieftains and members to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The call was made on Monday during the Ika Federal Constituency Leaders and Stakeholders Meeting held in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. The meeting was convened to brief Party members on the ongoing APC e-registration exercise.

The stakeholders’ meeting attracted prominent Party leaders from the constituency, including Hon. Doris Uboh, Evangelist Moses Kamaya, Chairmen of Ika North East and Ika South Local Government Areas, Samuel Ekene Kerry and Hilary Fada Ibude, respectively, Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Barrister Chiedu Ebie, Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, Hon. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, Monday Odigwe, Hon. Jerry Ehiwarior, among others.

Speaking at the event, Morka, who convened the meeting, said the gathering went beyond a routine political engagement, noting that it was the first collective assembly since April 2025, when what he described as a political earthquake reshaped Delta State’s political landscape.

According to him, Governor Oborevwori had, on that historic day, courageously led the entire structure and machinery of the former ruling party in the state into the APC.

Morka announced that January 31, 2026, had been set as the deadline for the ongoing e-registration exercise, warning that failure to register would result in exclusion not only from Party membership recognition but also from participation in forthcoming ward, local government, state, and national congresses.

“You cannot vote. You cannot be voted for. This process is simple, guided, and urgent. That is why our State Treasurer, who also serves as the State Coordinator of this programme, is here today to provide direction,” he said.

He added that the planned congresses would usher in new Party leadership at all levels, stressing that registration was the gateway to participation.

“As leaders, we must return to our villages and wards with a singular mission to mobilise, register, and strengthen the APC from the grassroots up. This is not a time for petty divisions, unnecessary suspicion, or internal anxiety,” Morka said.

He emphasised that President Tinubu expects unity and shoulder-to-shoulder solidarity from Party members, describing the APC as a Party determined to carry the Renewed Hope message to every corner of the country.

Morka further praised the President for demonstrating uncommon courage since assuming office, saying Tinubu confronted challenges previous administrations avoided and dismantled long-standing obstacles that held the economy hostage.

“These are bold, historic steps, and they demand the full support of APC faithful. We must stand with Mr. President as he continues the difficult but necessary work of rebuilding Nigeria,” he stated.

In his remarks, Okowa said the calibre and number of leaders present at the meeting should dispel any fear, politically or otherwise.

“If we resolve, collectively and immediately, to work together, we can command political dominance across all 26 wards of the Ika Federal Constituency,” he said.

Okowa noted that Ika South and Ika North East had consistently delivered strong electoral outcomes, adding that unity under one party would translate to even greater success.

“Delta State is a model. Our Governor was the first to align openly and decisively with Mr. President, and because of that, the eyes of the nation are upon us. The results from Delta will speak loudly across Nigeria,” he said.

He cautioned against internal divisions, stressing that internal conflicts weaken the party, while victory comes from strategic planning, discipline, and collective execution.
