The member representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency of Ogun state in the national assembly, Hon Isiaka Ibrahim has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves encouragement from Nigerians, saying that he has been truthful to Nigerians, particularly as it concerns the 2023 and 2024 budgets.
Rep. Isiaka highlights economic progress under the leadership of President Tinubu also called on Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu’s transformative economic agenda.
He said this in an interview with members of the National Assembly New Media Forum shortly after the presentation of the 2025 budget by President Bola Tinubu to the joint session of the national assembly on Wednesday at the national assembly, Abuja, where he emphasized the significant progress made in the country’s economic journey. While urging citizens to stay committed as the government works toward long-term prosperity.
He said, “As pressmen you have been following the trajectory of our economy’s journey over the years, though it has been tough but there is light at the end of the tunnel. We have made substantial progress, and we must keep moving forward because if we don’t, how do we get to the end of the tunnel?
“President Bola Tinubu has been truthful to Nigerians on the 2023 and 2024 budget, he came boldly to tell all Nigerians that he has not finished spending our money of 2023 and 2024 budget under his custody, that the money has been moved to capital projects and other promising projects. These are things other successive government would have just concealed and that is it,” he said.
The lawmaker highlighted achievements such as GDP growth, inflation reduction, and improved debt repayment in the last 18 months of President Bola Tinubu on the saddle. Adding that the country’s foreign reserves has grown to $42 billion in just 18 months.
“Our external reserves have been restored to $42 billion, a true testament to our steady growth,” he stated. He expressed confidence that this progress would continue under the current administration’s leadership.
Isiaka further assured Nigerians that the government is committed to managing resources transparently. The National Assembly will ensure the government is held accountable, he said, especially with the ongoing 2023 and 2024 budgets. He emphasized that all promised projects would be completed, benefiting the people. “We will ensure that the promises made are kept, and Nigerians will feel the impact,” he affirmed.
He also addressed the 2025 budget, explaining its role in advancing the nation’s development goals. Rep. Isiaka noted the importance of security improvements and sustainable economic policies in the upcoming fiscal year. The lawmaker reiterated that every effort is being made to achieve prosperity for all Nigerians.
Rep. Isiaka was visibly elated over the transformation going on in the country under Tinubu’s regime encouraged all Nigerians to stay focused and united in support of the government’s renewed hope agenda.
