Wike’s fraternity with Tinubu, APC does trouble PDP – Senate Minority Leader

The Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Benue South, Abba Moro has said the romance between former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike and the ruling All Progressives Congress was nothing to worry about and does not trouble PDP

Senator Moro made the declaration on Wednesday while speaking with journalists shortly after a closed-door meeting of the PDP Senate Caucus.

The Minority Leader said what should bother genuine faithfuls in the main opposition party should be how to resolve its leadership crisis and ultimately, put its house in order.

He said: “The PDP is not just about Damagun or Wike; the PDP is about its members. We are working tirelessly to ensure that the party returns to its winning ways.

“Wike’s actions are not unusual. What matters is the collective resolve of the PDP to work against any forces undermining the party’s stability.”

Shedding light on what was discussed at the closed-door meeting, Senator Moro revealed that the opposition lawmakers appraised the party performance at the just concluded Edo and Ondo off season elections.

“We discussed the life of our party, particularly in the context of recent electoral losses. While it is painful to lose, every failure is a lesson for future success.

“Our efforts are now geared towards ensuring PDP does not face such setbacks again, especially in states like Osun where we currently hold government.”

The PDP Senate Caucus however accused the nation electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission of undermining the electoral process and further called for reforms to restore the sanctity of the ballot.
