Senator Onyekachi Peter Nwebonyi, representing Ebonyi North and Senate Majority Whip, has lauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for steering Nigeria towards economic growth and effective governance. Speaking at the party’s 8th National Convention in Abuja, he emphasized the significance of the party’s manifesto and the President’s reform agenda.
Senator Nwebonyi highlighted the administration’s bold economic decisions, including the removal of subsidies, which he said were aimed at strengthening the nation’s fiscal capacity. “For government to deliver the true benefits of democracy, it must have the resources to do so. Today, Nigeria is no longer operating a ‘money economy’ the way it used to; the country is richer because of decisive leadership at the top,” he stated.
The senator urged Nigerians to rally behind the APC, noting that the party’s manifesto addresses national challenges comprehensively. “The message is clear: all Nigerians should find a home in APC, even though it may not be possible for everyone to be involved in every aspect. The party is tackling real problems with actionable policies,” he said.
Nwebonyi further stressed the importance of continuity in governance. He argued that many critical projects, such as the coastal road, require extended timeframes for completion. “In politics, the reward for good work is more work. Some projects cannot be completed in four years, or even seven or eight. The President needs time to finish these projects and introduce new policies that will reshape Nigeria,” he added.
The Senate Majority Whip described the convention as an opportunity to strengthen the party’s unity and align members with the administration’s long-term vision. He emphasized that the APC remains committed to transformative governance that benefits all Nigerians.
Senator Nwebonyi also called on party members to actively participate in the upcoming electoral cycle, pledging massive support for the President to continue his reform agenda. “We are going to vote for him massively for the next four years to ensure ongoing development and the successful execution of projects that will restructure the country,” he noted.
He concluded by reaffirming his confidence in the party’s leadership, stating that the APC’s approach offers practical solutions to the nation’s economic and social challenges.
The 8th National Convention of the APC brought together party leaders, lawmakers, and stakeholders to reaffirm their commitment to advancing Nigeria’s development under the current administration.
