Senator Neda Imasuen, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, has vowed to take drastic action against Managing Directors (MDs) of government and non-government agencies who fail to respond to the committee’s calls.

This stern warning was issued on the floor of the senate after laying five petitions

The committee’s frustration stems from the lack of cooperation from MDs, hindering the investigation process. To address this, Senator Imasuen hinted at taking severe measures, including arrest, to ensure compliance.

This authority is rooted in the 1999 Constitution (as amended), specifically Section 88(1), which empowers each House to conduct investigations and summon individuals or organizations.
