The National Coalition Against Terrorism, has described the purported suspension of the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, by individuals not affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) an act of terrorism against democracy and called for immediate prosecution against Justice Usman Mallam Na’abba for his role in granting the controversial order.

In a press conference held on Thursday by its National Coordinator, Terrence Kuanum highlighted the disavowal of the suspension by 27 ward executive members of Ganduje ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government of Kano State. , including the ward legal adviser, asserting that those who orchestrated the suspension were members of the New Nigeria’s Peoples Party and not legitimate members of the APC.

Kuanum revealed the alleged involvement of the Kano State Government, led by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), in sponsoring the suspension, raising questions about the interference of party politics.

According to him, “the worst experience is the restraining order granted by Justice Usman Mallam Na’abba of Kano State High Court to the none APC Members who suspended the APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. One began to wonder if the judiciary is now enjoying the monkey water of politics by destroying the last hope of all citizen”.

However, Kuanum expressed relief at the subsequent order by Hon. Justice A. M. Lima of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Kano Judicial Division, restraining the implementation of the suspension pending further legal proceedings, thus restoring faith in the judiciary.

He further commended the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, for upholding the integrity of the Nigerian judicial system amidst the turbulent political dynamics.

Kuanum thanked Nigerians for their support of democracy during challenging times, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic principles.
