Femi Gbajabiamila cleared patients’ hospital bills at five Lagos hospital.”
In a touching show of compassion and service, the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, marked his 63rd birthday by settling the outstanding hospital bills of patients in five different medical centers across Lagos State.
Represented by the Member of the House of Representatives for Surulere Constituency I, Hon. Fuad Kayode Laguda, and Hon. Agboola Dabiri, the birthday outreach visited the following hospitals:
• Randle General Hospital
• Gbaja Mother and Child Maternity Hospital
• Gbajabiamila General Hospital, Iyun
• Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH)
• Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH)
The intervention covered the bills of patients facing various critical conditions, including premature births, psychiatric cases, victims of fatal accidents, and other financially distressed patients. According to the hospital authorities, cheques were presented to the medical management for direct payment of these debts.
One of the beneficiaries, visibly emotional, described the gesture as “a divine intervention,” saying, “We had tried our best to offset these unending bills, but all efforts proved abortive. My family and I sincerely appreciate Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila for coming to our aid at this crucial time.”
Several other patients echoed the same sentiment, describing the gesture as “God-sent,” and praised the Chief of Staff for extending love to the vulnerable even in his absence.
Speaking during the visits, Hon. Fuad Laguda stated:
“This medical support is from Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. He would have loved to be here in person, but due to national assignments, he was unavoidably absent. He appreciates your prayers and love and prays that Almighty God continues to answer all our prayers.”
The Surulere Media Team (SMT) confirmed that this is one of several initiatives lined up to commemorate Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila’s 63rd birthday, with more highlights and events to follow.
