Contrary to the embattled Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims that her refusal to yield to the sexual advances from the Senate President Godswill Akpabio was behind the hatred and antagonism against her, Businessmatrixnews’ investigation has proven otherwise.
The suspended Kogi Central Senator made the allegation when she appeared on the Morning Show aired by the Arise News Channel in a penultimate week in Abuja and followed it up in social media handles.
Our investigation shows that Natasha’s travail in the Senate was as a result of her attitude towards her colleagues. Specifically the character she put on as the then Senate committee Chairman on local content.
However, an impeccable source told Businessmatrixnews that she could have done better if she had rehearsed the allegations properly before going on air or starting the trouble from the chamber after her seat rearrangement saga.
The suspended Senator Natasha acording to our investigations maltreated her committee members on Local Content, removed a handful number of them from the committee list thereby making herself the Chairman and the committee members for close to two years she held the chairmanship position of the committee.
This, according to our Senate source was the reason the Senate President Godswill Akpabio replaced her as the Chairman of the Committee after much pressure from over ten Senators she had relegated to the background as far as the committee on Local Content was concerned.
This was also confirmed by some of the senators during the inaugural meeting held by the current Senate Committee Chairman on Local Content, Senator Joel after Sen. Natasha was removed.
A lot of them, during the inaugural meeting said that they were just understanding what the committee was all about as Senator Natasha sidelined a lot of them.
Akpabio according to the information was reluctant to replaced her because of his long time relationship with her husband but had no option than to bow to pressure from over ten victimized senators (members of the committee) who were mostly male colleagues and announced her replacement.
Our source said, he was surprised that the suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghen could go this far trying to destroy a man that shielded her in the Senate, giving her a position she did not merit as a first timer in the senate.
“When we reported to Akpabio that Natasha has shut the door of the committee on Local Content against almost all of us, he was not even willing to answer us until it became obvious that she was the Chairman and members of the committee herself
“Even then, it took serious pressure and threats from us for the Senate president to change his mind and replace her because local content is such a committee that the Senate cannot play with,” our source said.
