Recall that as the senate resumed plenary on Tuesday after weeks of 2025 budget defence, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced during the plenary session among other things that President Tinubu had earlier today (Tuesday) signed the NCDC bill into law. The announcement which threw senators from the north central, including Moro into unhindered joy.
However, reacting to the announcement, during a chat with newsmen in his office, the former Minister of Interior Moro expressed his profound gratitude to the President for signing the bill into law. Adding that the President’s assent to the bill was in line with his desire to take development to the grassroots.

“We want development to spread across Nigeria. We want people to participate in the development of their areas in terms of infrastructures, establishments and everything that can make life meaningful to the people. That’s why I sponsored the bill and that’s why my colleagues from North Central and Nigeria supported it. And that’s why Mr President has assented to the bill”.
Though, Moro said the Commission will focus on the development of the region, but lamenting that onike other regions, the North Central zone has been enmeshed by insecurity and devastated by the activities of herdsmen and farmers clashes as well as bandits.
He felt bad that insecurity and ceaseless vices have left devastating effects on the zone with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) littered all over the streets within the region.
He said returning the IDPs to their ancestral homes and making life more meaningful to them is what the NCDC is all about.
The Senate Minority Leader assured his people that NCDC will definitely make a difference because they (leaders in the region) are committed to the people.
The two-time Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Abba Moro urged the people of the region to applaud President Tinubu for signing the NCDC Bill to law on Tuesday. Meanwhile, he enjoined also to support the government under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying that with the commission now in place development will now find its way back to the region.
