Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, representing Delta South Senatorial District, has pledged to deliver massive votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the district during the 2027 general elections.
Joel-Onowakpo, who is also the APC senatorial candidate for Delta South, said the party was now better positioned for victory following renewed unity and reconciliation among its stakeholders across the district.
The senator gave the assurance on Sunday when APC stakeholders in Delta South, led by the party’s Delta South Chairman, Chief Emmanuel Amgbadugba, paid him a scheduled visit at his country home in Emede to deliberate on strategies for the forthcoming general elections.
He assured the party leaders of his readiness to work with all stakeholders and provide the necessary support to strengthen the APC and ensure outstanding victories for President Tinubu and all the party’s candidates in the district.
Senator Joel-Onowakpo said the party would work collectively to secure the re-election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, while also delivering victory for the APC’s senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly candidates across Delta South.
The lawmaker, who also serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content, stressed the need for party members and leaders to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
“We must make a mark by delivering huge votes to all APC candidates in Delta South Senatorial District,” he said.
Earlier, Chief Amgbadugba briefed the senator on the progress and gains recorded by the party across Delta South, as well as ongoing efforts to strengthen its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Delta South APC Chairman expressed confidence that the party was on course for a successful outing, assuring that stakeholders would leave no stone unturned in mobilising voters and ensuring that the district delivers one of the largest vote blocs for the APC in Delta State.
According to him, the party’s renewed unity and expanding grassroots support would play a critical role in securing victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Stakeholders present at the meeting included Chief Ambrose Okuhor; Chief Mike Ogwah; Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, Organising Secretary of Delta State APC; High Chief Uyoyou Edhekpo, Welfare Officer of Delta State APC; Hon. Paul Azobor, Auditor of Delta State APC; Mrs. Kenneth Ogba, Assistant Treasurer of Delta State APC; as well as the eight APC Local Government Chairmen in Delta South and other party leaders.
Senator Joel-Onowakpo’s confidence in the party’s prospects is also anchored on recent developmental gains recorded in the district.
Recall that the senator recently met with President Tinubu to express appreciation for signing into law two bills he sponsored, which are expected to attract development in the areas of education and healthcare while also creating significant employment opportunities for the people of Delta South.
The senator expressed confidence that the people of Delta South would reciprocate what he described as the Federal Government’s developmental interventions in the district by giving overwhelming support to President Tinubu and other APC candidates at the polls.
With the APC closing ranks and strengthening its structures across the eight local government areas of Delta South, Senator Joel-Onowakpo maintained that the party was determined to deliver massive votes and record a resounding victory for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and all APC candidates in 2027.
