Honorable member, representing Ihiala Federal Constituency of Anambra State Rep Pascal Agbodike, has described the 2025 Appropriation Bill as the budget of economy transformation.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the proposed 2025 budget presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, Hon. Agbodike said the budget will address the dwindling Nigeria’s economy.
“The President just presented the 2025 budget and I call it the budget of economy transformation owing to the present situation of the economy, it has been dwindling for the past years.
“But from the efforts of Mr President, he’s getting it right and has promised that Nigerian should expect positive change”, he said
While explaining that the earnings of the budget is anchored on tax, the lawmaker called on Nigerians to imbibe the attitude of paying tax.
Lamenting the non payment of tax, he said paying of tax is like joining hands in contributing to economic growth and development of our country.
“When you refuse to contribute your quota, how can this nation move forward? You are not paying tax to the ruling party nor are you paying to Mr President. But you are to Nigeria, hence we can come together and jettison any form of nepotism.
“Our number should be our strength, 200 and something million Nigerians. If we can come together, it will be a thing of strength”, he added.
Hon Agbodike (APGA) charged the opposition parties to engage in constructive criticism of the present administration, saying, “When the ruling party is getting it right, we have no option than to support what they are doing; our criticism should be constructive. Mr President is trying and he need our supports to deliver on his Renewed Hope Agenda”.
